I was only a starter on special-teams my senior year but I remember being put in when we're way ahead in a game (Carlmont or Woodside)where Bill had already scored four touchdowns. I was playing split end which is what is now called split end. Bill had broken through into the backfield on a run and had only one defender between him and the goal. I threw the block that cleared the way and I remember coaches saying good thing you didn't clip that safety. They been pretty worried that I would throw an illegal block and that record setting 5th touchdown would have been called back. 50 years ago and the memory stays with me. Bill was the gold standard for athletes that year. Everybody looked up to him.

The BevMobile has arrived in Mount Shasta! (That's Riley transporting wine, beer, soda, and sparkling water from Northern Oregon)
We're all getting jazzed about reconnecting, Terryl. I am aware you're planning to attend but (I chair the committee), I see you haven't signed up for any event yet. The only one with a deadline is the Saturday night main event, since we tell our caterer on Oct. 14 how many to cook for. So the deadline is Sunday., Oct. 13th. If you need some help getting signed up, please call me at (703) 282-3164. Lots of us will be there: 99 signed up so far, including 8 faculty! I only wish we could spend more time.

BJ, is that you? Good to know you’re upright and breathing.
How can it be 50 years since high school? Seems more like 20 or
25 max. Hell we just turned 40 right? Hope you are well, I’ll tell
Dougie Riley that I texted you. Take care,
Scranton
